The Role of the Brain in Chronic Complex Illness (Brain Retraining)
Advances in theoretical neuroscience suggest the brain does not merely take in experience, but actively predicts and generates it. This model, called predictive processing, has implications for chronic complex illnesses such as ME/CFS, long covid and fibromyalgia. Neuroplasticity, or brain retraining, practices such as DNRS, Gupta and Primal Trust, use this theory as a basis for helping people heal from these conditions. This video is a summary of the theory and a comparison of these practices.
